Join JFS for a lecture with UM Professor of History Deborah Dash Moore regarding Immigrants and Refugees. The United States has a checkered history of alternatively welcoming and rejecting immigrants and refugees. Jews have stood on both sides of the metaphorical American fence as natives and strangers, as immigrants (legal and illegal) and refugees. How have Jews responded to crises in the past? How does examining that past help us understand what is happening today? Event is 3-5pm at Mediterrano Restaurant. $10 suggested donation. Event includes dessert reception.
