Eileen Freed, Executive Director

Eileen is honored to re-join the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor team, having previously served for seven years in a number of roles, culminating as Director of Israel/Overseas & Community Relations.
 

Her most recent position was as Special Projects & Communications Manager at Zionism Victoria in Melbourne, Australia where she coordinated the community’s Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut events and the organization’s marketing communications.
 

Eileen has lived in Ann Arbor for 19 years and has served on a number of boards including Beth Israel Congregation, Jewish Federation and Hebrew Day School. She earned her BA in Psychology and History at the University of Texas at Austin and her MBA at the University of Houston.
 

She and her husband Gary are proud parents of three grown children.


 

Robert Deschaine, Accounting Manager

Robert has over twenty-five years of accounting experience working with both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, including eight years as Director of Finance at the Chippewa Nature Center, in Midland, MI. There, he was instrumental in updating financial procedures and technology and bringing a collaborative approach to budgeting and other financial operations. Robert moved to Ann Arbor with his wife Laurie of thirty years and looks forward to making Ann Arbor home.


 

Isaac Ellis, Operations & Community Partnerships Manager

Isaac has enjoyed working on the administrative side of things ever since he was tricked into it while an apprentice at Performance Network Theater. Since then, he has used his double majors in Theater and Spanish, his thirst for knowledge, and the life lessons acquired while growing up on a farm to learn just enough about everything to be dangerous. When not doing what he can to help improve the community at large, you'll probably find him baking something delicious in his kitchen or onstage with the local theater troupe The Brass Tacks Ensemble.

 


 

Stephanie Glass, Development & Planning Associate

Stephanie is thrilled to bring her experience in non-profit program coordination and community outreach to the role of Development and Planning Associate. Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from The George Washington University and her Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. Originally from the Washington, DC area, Stephanie is excited to call Ann Arbor home, as she is the proud daughter and granddaughter of University of Michigan graduates. 


 

Sharyn J. Gallatin, Financial Resource Development Director

Sharyn has almost twenty years of fundraising experience for various organizations, including Federations in Detroit, New York and New Jersey, Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit and National Council of Jewish Women, Michigan. In her capacity as a lay leader, Sharyn has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for these organizations and is a skilled solicitor. She is also an alumna of Jewish Federation of North America’s National Young Leadership Cabinet, a six-year leadership program for those recognized by their federations as future leaders. Sharyn completed this program in 2009 and has worked her way up in Federations to hold numerous campaign positions, including Women’s Campaign Chair in Northern New Jersey and Lion of Judah Chair and Community Campaign Chair in Detroit, to name a few.

 

Sharyn is also a licensed attorney and has had her own law practice for the past sixteen years, specializing in estate planning, special needs advocacy and residential real estate. She is a member of the Bar of the States of Michigan, New York and New Jersey.

 

Sharyn’s greatest achievements are her children, Joshua and Rose. She resides in West Bloomfield with her children and is a member of Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills.


 

Marci Sukenic, Chai Mitzvah Community Coordinator

Marci Sukenic, Chai Mitzvah Community Coordinator, is excited to help bring the Chai Mitzvah Engagement program to Ann Arbor. She spent most of her professional career as a speech-language pathologist. She went on to explore her professional interests in real estate and volunteer work in fundraising. She brings her varied experience and her love for bringing people together to this new endeavor. When not at work, Marci stays busy with her three children.

Jessica is a recent graduate from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She received her bachelor’s degree in Learning and Education Studies with a concentration in Workplace Training and Development. During her four years, she was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi’s executive board as well as a leader in the Illini Hillel community.

Jessica has previously been active in the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago. This past summer, she was as an Assistant to the Director of the Lewis Summer Intern Program.

Jessica is looking forward to her new role as Outreach & Program Coordinator in the Ann Arbor community.


 

Julia Goode, Accounting Specialist

Julia's nonprofit experience started while a student at U of M. Most of her nonprofit experience was gained while working on low-income housing issues in Chicago, in both program and administrative positions. When not bookkeeping at the Jewish Federation, Julia works as a gardener.


 

Margaret Schreiber, Life & Legacy Coordinator

Margaret was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin.  She is an attorney who received her law degree from the University of Wisconsin.  For 17 years, while living in Chicago, Margaret held positions as a lawyer in both the public and private sector and a business owner. After a short stint in Columbus Ohio, Margaret and her husband and daughter moved to Ann Arbor.  While Margaret and family love Ann Arbor, she is first and foremost a Badger Fan!
