The Eastern Michigan University Center for Jewish Studies welcomes essayist/novelist Bethany Ball to the EMU Student Center (900 Oakwood Street, Ypsilanti) Monday, February 11, 7:00 PM, Room 300.
Bethany Ball describes herself as "a Midwestern WASP" (converted to Judaism--sort of), her husband a "Kibbutz-Bred Israeli." Both her essays on intermarriage in America (and Israel) and her much-praised first novel, What to Do About the Solomons, illuminate her experiences crossing and intermingling many cultures. She holds a BS from Eastern Michigan University and an MFA from Sarah Lawrence. She will be speaking at the Eastern Michigan University Student Center at 7:00 PM on Monday, February 11, 2019. Her talk will be followed by a book-signing and a brief reception.
